Who's coming to Davos 2016?

Over 40 heads of state and government, as well as 2,500 leaders from business and society will convene at the  46th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, from 20 to 23 January in Davos-Klosters , Switzerland, under the theme, Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution . Critical current challenges, such as  security ,  climate change  and  “new normal” global growth and commodity prices,  are among the issues on the agenda. AP Branded Bus in Davos to Attract Investments

A bus branded with ‘Make Andhra Pradesh Your Business’ posters run on the streets of the Davos city in Switzerland ahead of the 46th World Economic Forum annual summit Ahead of the 46th World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Summit, Andhra Pradesh government has come out with an innovative campaign on the streets of Davos to attract investments to the reorganised State. Building on the tremendous success achieved at the recently held CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, the State government has now begun undertaking a unique initiative to project the might of the reorganised AP as an investment destination bringing it to the doorstep of the Western world. Executed with startling visuals - the state government has branded a special bus with ‘Make AP your Business’ posters. World Economic Forum to help Andhra Pradesh assess its competitiveness

New Delhi : Andhra Pradesh today signed a pactwith World Economic Forum under which the Geneva-based organisation will help the state assess its competitiveness. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed during the National Strategy Day on India event of WEF, paves the way for a future collaboration that will allow the state government and its partners to assess competitiveness. Drawing on the work of the Forum in benchmarking competitiveness, particularly through the use of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI), the Andhra Pradesh government and its partners will assess the competitiveness - both strengths and weaknesses - of the state's economy. The assessment will provide key data for the design of evidence-based policies and reforms, and allow comparison with other economies of similar size or at a similar stage of development. CM for measures to face urbanisation challenges

Chandrababu Naidu has underscored the need for evolving measures to face serious challenges that are likely to be thrown up by the rapid pace of urbanisation. “Urbanisation is a reality, and it is unstoppable.
