30 Under 30 In Enterprise Tech: Reinventing Business With Artificial Intelligence

In 2016  Alexandr Wang, 20 , took time off from his graduate computer science studies at MIT. He headed to Silicon Valley to join his friend and fellow developer  Lucy Guo, 23 . Two years  earlier, Guo - a 2014 Thiel Fellow - had left her senior year at Carnegie Mellon to pursue her own tech career.  Now, little more than a year after Wang left Cambridge, the two are leading a $4.7-million startup.  Scale , “The API of Human Intelligence,” serves such giants as Alphabet, P&G, GM Cruise and more. From high school dropouts to Stanford Ph.D’s, most of the  Forbes 2018 30 Under 30 Class in Enterprise Tech  are augmenting Artificial Intelligence with indispensable human skills.  Both Wang and Guo have substantial experience in tech, including stints at Snap and Quora. So they know that despite the considerable hype AI is, as they describe it, “not ready for prime time.” And, like much of this year’s class, they took risks to create something new. Apple Leak Reveals Massive, Expensive New iPhone

The iPhone 8 (some claim it will be called the ‘iPhone X’), is going to be the  most radical redesign  of  Apple   AAPL +0.59% ’s smartphone range to date. And now a major source has just revealed its biggest new feature and most painful drawback… Nikkei, the world’s largest financial newspaper, has  reported  that Apple will launch three configurations of iPhone in 2017. Two of these are expected to be incremental updates on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (with iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus branding), and an iPhone 8 with an all new OLED display measuring a massive 5.8-inches. The Most Forward-Looking Gadgets I Tried In 2016

As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gadget reviewer. As a kid, my favorite reading material, in addition to American comic books and manga, were video game review magazines like GamePro and EGM. When I got to high school and started making my own money, I began spending most of my paychecks on gadgets. I still remember dropping $800 (my entire month's earnings as a teen) on an Archos PMA (portable media player), which was basically a very ancient version of the iPad, way back in 2001. Then in 2003, I got the T-Mobile Sidekick (aka  the Danger Hiptop , rebranded for no particular reason because U.S. phone carriers like to interfere with every product), which was sort of a spiritual ancestor to the Android operating system. Anyway, long story short: I am a gadget geek, and I've been very fortunate to be able to write about gadgets for a living right now. Because I live just an hour away from Shenzhen --  hardware capital of the world  -- I have gotten my
