Aditya Birla Group to invest Rs7,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh over next two years

The fresh round of investments will be in addition to the Rs10,000 crore the group has already invested in the southern state in sectors including retail, telecom and cement Visakhapatnam:  Aditya Birla Group on Friday said it will invest Rs 7,000 crore in the next two years in Andhra Pradesh, one of the first big-ticket announcements at the start of the second edition of the state’s partnership summit with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The fresh round of investments would be in addition to the Rs 10,000 crore the group has already invested in the southern state in sectors including retail, telecom and cement. Visakhapatnam:  Following the launch of the pilot in June 2016, that tested a new Sowing Application for farmers combined with a Personalized Village Advisory Dashboard for the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, the results show a 30% higher average in yield per hectare. The Sowing App was developed to help farmers achieve optimal harvests by advising on the best time to sow depending on weather conditions, soil and other indicators. The pilot was implemented in Devanakonda Mandal in Kurnool district and the Advisory applied only to the groundnut crop. This was made possible through a partnership between the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Microsoft, and the Andhra Pradesh government. The pioneering digital tools were released as part of the Andhra Pradesh Primary Sector Mission (APPSM) also known as Rythu Kosam. Amaravati: Centre to invest Rs. 1.2 lakh cr in petro sector in Andhra Pradesh

The Union government will invest about Rs. 1.2 lakh crore in the petroleum sector in Andhra Pradesh over the next couple of years to make the State a leading petroleum hub, Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said on Thursday. He was speaking at Vangali village in Sabbavaram mandal of Visakhapatnam district after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) and the Skill Development Institute (SDI). Mr. Pradhan said that the government was keen on setting up the proposed petro-chemical complex in AP and there was no room for any doubt. “We have set aside about Rs. 35,000 crore for the complex and it is likely to come up in the Visakhapatnam-Kakinada- Rajahmundry corridor,” he said. Government today said it is extending tax incentives for seven districts in Andhra Pradesh to boost industrial activity. Andhra Pradesh: Construction on BEL's advanced night vision facility to begin

BENGALURU: State owned Bharat Electronics announced on Saturday that it will be setting up an advanced night vision products facility in Krishna District in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The factory, which will be a major step in advanced electronic products production in India will be set up at Nimmaluru village near Machilipatnam and will be the largest such facility in the country once commissioned, covering an area of over 50 acres. RBI report on ‘Private corporate investment’: 4 states corner over 50 per cent of project loans

Andhra Pradesh accounts for almost 16% of total banks and financial institutions funded projects in 2015-16; Maharashtra second. Four states — Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu — accounted for more than 50 per cent of the projects funded by banks and financial institutions (FIs) in 2015-16, leaving more populated northern states far behind. Andhra Pradesh, which has embarked upon building infrastructure to develop a new capital and other infrastructure requirement following bifurcation of the state into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, alone has accounted for almost 16 per cent of the total banks and financial institutions funded projects in 2015-16. According to a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) report on ‘Private corporate investment’, Maharashtra came second by bagging 14.8 per cent of the projects funded by banks and FIs. AP Genco proposes to add 11,210 MWby 2022 The AP Transco will invest Rs. 8,521 crore in the next two years to strengthen its Extra High Voltage Transmission Network and increase power availability in the State.
