Campaign in the U.S. to promote Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society ( APNRTSociety ) CEO Ravikumar Vemuri who was kick-started his 25-day tour from Texas, US, to promote Andhra Pradesh as an apt place for investment, said Telugu people from all fields took part in the campaign. So far Houston, Dallas in Texas and Georgia in Atlanta were covered. He said a large number of Telugu people from IT, medical fields, including CEOs of companies, are being addressed during the campaign. The campaign will be held in all 21 cities of the United States.

Andhra created 1,20,000 jobs in last 2 years: Chandrababu Naidu

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu says that his state clocked almost 11 percent growth in the last financial year, but that's not enough as far as he is concerned. He wants his state to clock 15 percent growth. In an exclusive conversation with CNBC-TV18's Shereen Bhan, Naidu whose government completed two years in office today asserts that his government has created over 1 lakh 20 thousand jobs in the last 2 years. Govt. to organise roadshow in Japan

Young workforce in the State a major attraction, says official :  The State government plans to organise a road show in Japan in August-September to attract Japanese investments, according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He was addressing the second day of the Collectors’ conference here on Thursday. Though schedule has not been finalised for the road show, the government is planning to organise 3 to 4 days event to show case the investment opportunities in the State. The Chief Minister would interact with Japan Prime Minister Shinzô Abe, officials and industry captains. Mr. Naidu got an invitation from Yosuke Takagi, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, who visited the Capital region recently. Govt Approves Project Loon Test for 4 days; Maharashtra & Andhra Pradesh Chosen for The Pilot

There has finally been some advancement in launching Project Loon in India, whose discussion has been going back-and-forth between Google and the Government for over a year now. Google has got the clearance to test Project Loon in India, with the aim of providing internet to everyone using balloons up in the sky. Having hit some roadblocks this year, the project got delayed, but the Government has finally given the conditional nod to test out the technology for just 4 days in India, as a pilot. The sites will be chosen in either Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh, to test out the technology in small rural areas of the country. Of course, the urban parts of the country will get the technology earlier because of better connectivity and infrastructure. Foxconn may soon manufacture iPhones in India: Reports

Reports suggest that Foxconn is in talks with the Indian Government to set up an iPhone manufacturing hub in Maharashtra. According to a recent report by ET Now, smartphone manufacturing giant Foxconn may be in talks with the Indian Government to manufacture iPhones in India. Foxconn is contracted by Apple to assemble iPhones, but the same is yet not happening out of Foxconn's manufacturing hub in Andhra Pradesh.  For manufacturing iPhones, Foxconn has reportedly proposed a $10 billion facility in Maharashtra and the company is seemingly scouting for around 1200 acres of land to set up the same. The report also reveals that Foxconn and the Central Government have agreed on Maharashtra for the location of this iPhone production facility.    Currently, Foxconn assembles Xiaomi, OnePlus and Gionee devices at its Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh CM’s video conference: 50 US firms ready to move to AP

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had participated in a video conference with ‘IT Serv’, a consortium of over 400 NRI owned IT companies in the U.S. ‘IT serve’ represents several companies with multiple skill sets in various fields including, education, IOT, cloud management, app development etc. Representatives from over 100 companies attended the video conference from Dallas, Chicago, New Jersey, Houston, Atlanta and Washington DC. Fifty companies expressed their readiness to move to AP immediately.

Ajay, Kajol to be the face of AP Tourism

Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and his wife Kajol will be the brand ambassadors of Andhra Pradesh Tourism. The Bollywood couple will be the face of the Andhra Pradesh tourism sector, identified as the growth engine by the Chandrababu Naidu government. Mr. Naidu has been making all-out efforts to woo investors from across the globe to the fledgling State which is in the process of building a new capital Amaravati. Mr. Devgan, who was in the city on Tuesday to inaugurate the logo of an entertainment company, called on Mr. Naidu and deliberated on a range of issues besides volunteering to be the face of AP tourism. “Both Ajay Devgn and Kajol are Padma awardees and have earned good reputation in the film industry. Tech Mahindra to strengthen AP’s IT Sector

Centre for Excellence in Robotics and Analytics Department at IIDT Extending support to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. State to encourage budding entrepreneurs

Andhra Pradesh (India): The Krishna District Industries Centre authorities on Wednesday conducted an awareness programme for budding entrepreneurs to set up various industries. Krishna District Industries Centre General Manager Venkata Rao explained the participants about the encouragement to be promised by the State government to start respective industry. Mr. Venkata Rao promised that the State government would clear the application related to new industries within 21 days in a bid to encourage budding entrepreneurs. Experts from different industries explained the procedures on how to start an industry to the budding entrepreneurs.

Essel Group keen to invest in AP’s tourism

A team led by Mr. Ashok Goel, VC & MD, Essel World met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu here in Secretariat. During the meeting, the Chief Minister explained to Essel executives about the potential for tourism in the state. Essel has evinced interest in the development of islands for tourism. The AP FiberNet will give connection at Rs.149 per month for an 15 Mbps line to 1.3 crore households. Officials will get 100 Mbps connection at Rs.999 per month. Andhra Pradesh CM gets positive signals from U.K. companies

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met London Stock Exchange CEO Nikhil Rathi during his visit to London on first day. The Chief Minister held a discussion on financial district and development of world-class infrastructure in Amaravati with its representatives. Mr. Rathi informed Mr. Naidu that more than 500 companies with a total market capitalisation of $ 2 trillion were listed on the LSE. Mr. Rathi offered to work with the State government to help raise funds for Amaravati.
