O2 heralds a new era in smartphones as it becomes exclusive UK stockist of OnePlus 3

+ O2 becomes the first operator in the UK to ever stock OnePlus
+ OnePlus 3 goes on sale 29 September 2016
+ Tariffs start at £28 per month and offer between 500MB and 20GB data
Tech’s biggest kept secret will  shortly become available to a whole new audience as O2 becomes the first  operator in the UK to ever stock a OnePlus device, the OnePlus 3. Available on a  range of O2 Refresh tariffs, the device will go on sale from O2 on 29 September.

OnePlus started in 2013  with a simple idea: make a better phone, and a better way of doing things. Famed  for producing high quality and high specification phones available only online,  OnePlus has built up a cult following with their three previous phones, the  OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X. Initially available to a select few  through an invite-only system direct from OnePlus, the latest release is the  first to come to a UK network and move into the wider consumer arena.

Available on the  network’s renowned Refresh tariff, this is a smartphone built together with tech  enthusiasts, hand-in-hand with users. The OnePlus 3 is born from amazing  technology, design and innovation. The result is a premium flagship smartphone  featuring Dash Charge, which provides a day’s power in half an hour, an  ultra-thin aluminium unibody design and a 16MP back camera that boasts  lightning-fast shutter speed, snappy autofocus and intelligent software to  deliver an unmatched user experience.

The OnePlus 3 is available on a  range of O2 Refresh tariffs, offering from 500MB to 20GB data. Tariffs include  £28 per month for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB of data, and £35.50 per  month for unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 3GB data. Both tariffs come  with no upfront payment.

With O2 Refresh those who  want to upgrade early from another handset need only pay off the remaining value  of their handset – potentially saving hundreds of pounds to stay  bang-up-to-date. What’s more, customers who want to keep their phone after two  years will only pay for their monthly airtime package from that  point.

“As the only operator in  the UK to sell the OnePlus 3, we’re proud to be bringing our customers more  choice when it comes to picking their next flagship phone,” said Magnus  McDonald, Head of Devices at O2. “The OnePlus 3 offers high quality cutting edge  technology and great design at an affordable price and we think our customers  will love it.”

"We chose O2 as our  exclusive partner in this important market because they have a history of  focusing on the most premium smartphones for the most savvy users, which aligns  very well with our products and users," said Carl Pei, co-founder of OnePlus.  "We look forward to sending ripples through the market together with  O2."

The OnePlus 3 will be  available in O2 stores and online from29 September, with O2’s Westfield White  City store hosting a OnePlus pop-up event from 10am till 10pm.  To see the full  range of tariffs, visit http://www.o2.co.uk/oneplus3 from 29 September.
